This Privacy Policy applies to the HotDog Sensor / HotDog App mobile application (the “App”) and the website https://hotdogsensor.com, operated by Selsaas Development AS, organization number 924 360 259 (“we”, “us”).

1. What this policy covers

This policy describes how we access, collect, use, store, share and delete personal data when you use the App or our website. The App lets you pair a HotDog temperature sensor, view temperature data and receive alerts.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use the App and website, we may collect:

Account and contact information: name, email address, and other details you provide when you create an account or contact support.
Sensor and service data: sensor identifier (for example from the QR code), paired device information, temperature readings, alert thresholds and notification settings.
Device and app identifiers: app instance identifiers and similar device identifiers needed to run the App, send push notifications and keep your session logged in.
Diagnostics and log data: if the App crashes or reports an error, we may collect IP address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, time and date of use, and similar technical data. We use Sentry for this.
Website and order data (if you shop at hotdogsensor.com): name, delivery address, email, order history and payment status. Payments are processed by Shopify and the payment providers shown at checkout. We do not store full payment card numbers.

We do not sell personal data.

We do not use the App for advertising.

3. How we use the data

We use the data to:

create and maintain your account
pair and operate your HotDog sensor
show temperature data and send alerts
provide customer support
improve reliability and fix errors
process orders if you buy from our webshop
comply with legal obligations

4. Sharing with third parties

We share data only as needed to provide the service:

Google Play Services (Android): app operation, push notifications and related Google services. Google Privacy Policy
Expo: app runtime and related services. Expo Privacy
Sentry: crash and error diagnostics. Sentry Privacy
Shopify and payment providers: if you place an order on the website.

These providers process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own unrelated purposes. We may also disclose data if required by law.

5. Security

We transmit personal data using HTTPS/TLS and use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is 100 % secure.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep account and sensor data for as long as you have an account, and for a limited period afterwards if we must keep records for support, security, accounting or legal reasons.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing support@selsaasdevelopment.com. We will delete the account and related personal data unless we must retain specific information for a legal obligation (for example accounting records). Freezing or disabling an account is not treated as deletion.

If the App allows account creation, you can also request deletion from within the App (settings / account).

7. Children

The App and website are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet). Contact support@selsaasdevelopment.com.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The current version will always be available at this URL. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date.
